Battle
over Humane Standards Heats Up in
New Jersey
The vast majority of citizens in New Jersey and across the
U.S. oppose the inhumane practices that the New Jersey Department
of Agriculture (NJDA) is seeking to codify as "humane".
Rather than helping promote compassion, the NJDA is seeking to protect
the inhumane practices of industrialized factory farms. The department
has received thousands of comments from humane organizations, veterinarians,
and even farmers opposing their draft standards. Among those who
