I am writing to urge you to support S.159/A.329, legislation to prohibit cruel veal production.

I am strongly opposed to the standard treatment of veal calves, which involves taking young calves away from their mothers and chaining them by their neck in tiny crates. They spend their entire lives unable to walk, turn around, or lie down comfortably. Additionally, the calves are denied adequate iron and fiber in order to produce the pale-colored meat sold as white veal. The veal bill will prohibit this intolerable cruelty by requiring that calves raised for veal have at least enough space to turn around and a diet that does not cause anemia.

Please do everything in your power to ensure that S.159/A.329 passes the legislature. Thank you very much for your concern and consideration.

Sincerely,
[your name]
