Dear Assemblymember/Senator:

I am writing to urge you to support bill (A.329 for Assemblymembers, S.159 for Senators), which would ban cruel veal crates.

I am strongly opposed to the cruel treatment of veal calves, which involves taking young calves away from their mothers and chaining them by their neck in tiny crates. They spend their entire lives unable to walk, turn around, or lie down comfortably. Additionally, the calves are denied adequate iron and fiber in order to produce the pale-colored meat sold as white veal. The veal bill will prohibit this intolerable cruelty by requiring that calves raised for veal have at least enough space to turn around and a diet that does not cause anemia.

Please do everything you can to ensure passage of A.329/S.159.

Sincerely,
[your name]
